Tucker Carlson just told America he’s “out” of the Republican Party. Aaaand crickets. Nobody cares.
Recently, on a podcast called, Can’t Be Censored, the man who spent thirty five years as a “consistent defender” of the GOP delivered his verdict to the lens with the solemnity of a man reading his own eulogy. He relented, there’s “no chance” he’d support Republicans in the midterms. Not Democrats either… to be clear, because, oh God, can you imagine trying that label on? Ooof! Tucker would rather shit in both hands and clap in his own face, amirite? He doesn’t know what he’s going to do. He’s just out. A man without a cause now. Cast out of the political orbit. A wanderer in the purgatory outside the entire performative identity he created for himself.
Cute. Real cute, Tuckie-boy. But is this a man finding his conscience, or a man who just watched his own audience numbers tell him exactly where the money stopped flowing? Because I’ve seen this movie before, and so have you. We watched Joe Walsh do it. We watched Adam Kinzinger do it. Lev Parnas, Anothony Scaramucci, Michael Cohen, George Conway… the list of flip-flopping opportunists goes on and on. They always call it growth. It’s never growth. It’s almost always market research.
Let’s talk about it.
Here’s what actually happened. In February, The No New Wars President took the country into a war with Iran — just like everyone said he would. (I’ll never stop saying, I told you so.) Tucker turned hard against it, calling it “Israel’s war,” not America’s, and saying the decision to commit American power belonged to Netanyahu, not the man who’s supposedly the President of the United States. Blah, blah, blah…
By April he was on his own show with his brother Buckley, choking up, saying he’d be “tormented by it for a long time” and that he was “sorry for misleading people” into backing Trump in the first place. Trump’s response, posted to Truth Social, was to call Tucker and every other defector “Low IQs,” stupid people whose own families know it. By June, Tucker had stopped pretending there was anything left to defend. “They are making decisions on the basis of what’s best for this company, what’s best for Israel, what’s best for our donors,” he said. “That’s treasonous. It’s immoral.”
Strong words. Except this is the same guy who, eighteen months earlier, was telling his audience the January 6 defendants weren’t insurrectionists, they were political prisoners, using footage Kevin McCarthy handed him personally to make the case that a mob smashing into the Capitol “obviously revered” the building they were smashing into. This is the same dickhead who spent 2024 through 2026 turning his platform into a halfway house for Holocaust revisionists, white nationalists, and grifters who think Chabad started a war. The treason radar didn’t exist when it was aimed at January 6th defendants beating cops with flagpoles and smearing literal shit on the people’s house walls. It switched on the second his own party stopped being profitable.
Now let’s take a quick trip through memory lane, because with these guys, the redemption arc only works if you let them skip the first forty years. Fortunately for everyone involved, I suffer from a documented condition I call, Fuck That Shititis. Symptoms include an inability to let bad behavior slide, a chronic allergy to anything swept under a rug, and a stubborn refusal to forget what a man said on the record three years ago just because he’s inconvenienced by it now. Some people call it neurodivergence. I call it a public service. Moving on.
Tucker Swanson McNear Carlson, born 1969 in San Francisco, the son of a broadcaster, couldn’t get into the CIA after Trinity College, so he tried journalism instead, because as his own father reportedly told him, they take anyone. They certainly took him. Weekly Standard in the nineties, then CNN’s The Spin Room in 2000, a show so bad a critic said its hosts could lose a debate to a weatherman over whether the sun was out. Then Crossfire in 2001, where he wore his now-famous bow tie and played the smug young conservative opposite Paul Begala, until Jon Stewart sat across from him in 2004, peered through his soul, on air, and told him that the show wasn’t biased, it was just hurting the country. Crossfire got canceled three months later. CNN’s president agreed with Stewart’s read. Carlson, by his own account, took it personally, and he never really let it go, like the baby-back-bowtie wearing bitch he is.
Nobody on the right likes to admit this, but then Tucker went to MSNBC. He hosted a show called Tucker from 2005 to 2008, and while he was there he found a young Air America radio host nobody at the network wanted on television and pushed to get her a shot. Her name was Rachel Maddow. The man currently platforming antisemites built part of Rachel Maddow’s career. Hmmm…. I’ll be revisiting this another time. Don’t worry.
MSNBC canceled him in 2008 for low ratings. He bounced to Fox as a contributor, co-founded The Daily Caller in 2010, and by 2016 had his own primetime slot, Tucker Carlson Tonight. That show became, by some measures, the highest rated program in the history of cable news. It also got him in trouble constantly. He lost advertisers in 2018 over an anti-immigrant rant. He spent years pushing the Great Replacement theory to a primetime Fox audience, telling viewers outright that it wasn’t a conspiracy theory, it was the Democrats’ actual electoral strategy. It wasn’t. It’s a debunked framework with roots in white nationalist literature, and no, Democrats have never stated any such plan, because it doesn’t exist. He just said the quiet part loud enough that PBS quoted him saying it.
And the whole time, behind the scenes, he didn’t even believe his own bit.
That’s not my opinion, that’s the Dominion Voting Systems lawsuit. When Fox settled for seven hundred eighty seven and a half million dollars in 2023, the unredacted texts came out, and Tucker Carlson’s were some of the ugliest in the file. While Sidney Powell was on his network peddling stolen-election garbage, Carlson was texting that “the software shit is absurd” and that Powell was “lying.” When a Fox reporter fact checked the election lies on Twitter, Tuckie-boy texted Sean Hannity demanding she be fired, calling it something that was “measurably hurting the company” and tanking the stock price. He privately wanted Trump to concede. Yet, never told his viewers any of that. He let them keep believing the lie was real, on the same show where he knew, in writing, that it wasn’t. And in a separate text about three Trump supporters beating an Antifa protester on January 6th, he wrote that jumping a guy like that wasn’t honorable, because it’s “not how white men fight.” What in the white-supremacisms did he say? Excuse me while I grab my folding chair…
Fox cut him loose days after the settlement closed, with no on-air goodbye, his Friday sign-off promising he’d be back Monday turning out to be the last thing he ever said on that network. Reporting at the time tied his removal to an unwritten condition of the Dominion deal, which Fox and Dominion both publicly denied. Whatever the real reason, Tucker didn’t miss a beat. Within weeks he had a show running on Twitter. By the next year his podcast was Spotify’s number one show in the country. Which, I’d like to say on record, “FUCK SPOTIFY.” To Daniel Ek for insisting on hosting loser Joe Rogan and Tucker Qatarlson, may your zipper catch your little nut-sack every time you take a piss.
Anyway…

So what did Tucker Carlson do with his freedom and his new platform? He went and got Vladimir Putin to sit down with him in February 2024, the first Western interview Putin had given since invading Ukraine, and delivered him a two hour victory lap. CNN’s Clarissa Ward commented that, this was Putin’s platform, not an interview, and Carlson didn’t have control of it for a second. Because, of course it was. He floated Putin’s deep-state conspiracy theories back to him as legitimate questions. Hillary Clinton, not exactly my favorite person to quote, called him a “useful idiot,” and for once she undersold it. Putin himself later complained Carlson went too easy on him, saying he didn’t get “complete satisfaction” out of the exchange. When the topic turned to Evan Gershkovich, the Wall Street Journal reporter Russia was holding hostage on fabricated spy charges, the Tuckster told Putin the guy was “obviously not a spy” and then, in the same breath, suggested Gershkovich might have been “breaking your law in some way.” The Journal called it disgraceful, which, for a publication not prone to hyperbole at the time, was less an accusation than a verdict.
Seven months later, Carlson interviewed a podcaster named Darryl Cooper and introduced him to his audience as the “best and most honest popular historian” in the country. Cooper used the platform to call Winston Churchill the “chief villain of the Second World War” and to describe the Holocaust as less a deliberate extermination campaign than bad German logistics planning, millions of people simply ending up dead because nobody had a system for housing prisoners. The Biden White House called it a “disgusting and sadistic insult” to every American and to the memory of six million murdered Jewish people. Even Liz Cheney, who I have approximately zero use for politically, got this one right. She said, “No serious or honorable person would support or endorse this type of garbage.”
You’d think that would be the bottom. Wasn’t even close.
By 2025, Carlson’s show had become a rotating cast of men with axes to grind against Jewish people specifically. In August he gave Candace “Antisemite of the Day” Owens a platform to call Israel a “demonic state” and float the theory that Jeffrey Epstein worked for Israeli intelligence and that Israel killed John F. Kennedy. In October he sat down with Nick “Groyper-in-Chief” Fuentes, an open white nationalist pile of shit, for a friendly, complimentary two hour conversation, the same month he hosted a 9/11 conspiracy theorist who’s spoken at antisemitic conferences. The Fuentes interview blew up the Heritage Foundation, whose president defended Tucker publicly and got his own staff in open revolt. He later told the New York Times the backlash was “hysterical,” described Fuentes as just “a kid” with no power but his words, and when reminded on the record that Fuentes denies the Holocaust, Carlson’s actual response was, “OK, but is that worse than killing kids?” That’s not a gaffe. This is Tucker Carlson’s worldview. I wonder if he drinks his own piss with breakfast, too…
By December, the activist group StopAntisemitism had named him Antisemite of the Year, and at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, the same conference honoring the late Charlie Kirk, Carlson compared Kirk’s assassination to the crucifixion of Jesus, and blamed it, more or less, on people in Jerusalem “sitting around eating hummus.” A study out of Jerusalem’s Jewish People Policy Institute found that the share of his content framing Israel negatively jumped from about half to seventy percent in six months, built largely on an uncritical parade of Holocaust deniers and conspiracy theorists he never once pushed back on. In March of this year he showed his audience photos of IDF uniform patches and claimed they proved the Hasidic sect Chabad was secretly behind the Iran war. The photos were from a completely unrelated nonprofit, taken two years before the war started. He didn’t bother to check. Why would he? Fact-checking doesn’t get clicks.
Somewhere in the middle of all this, in November 2025, he also told Megyn Kelly he’d been “physically mauled by a demon or by something unseen” in his bed, claw marks and all, while his wife and four dogs slept through it. I’m not a doctor and I’m not going to diagnose a man through a podcast clip, but I will say this, if a guy whose entire brand has always been built on telling you what’s really going on behind the curtain has now told you, on camera, that something invisible attacked him in his sleep and the dogs didn’t notice. Make of that what you will. I have my guesses. I think he knows exactly what… or who attacked him and also, he’s full of shit.
Ben Shapiro, of all people, finally said the thing out loud this spring, calling Carlson and Owens “charlatans who traffic in conspiracism and dishonesty.” Carlson’s response was to say nobody watches Shapiro’s stuff anymore, which, fine, maybe, but it takes some nerve from a man whose own Twitter video views reportedly cratered eighty six percent within a year of leaving Fox, and whose favorability with his own party, per YouGov polling this year, has sunk to roughly thirty one percent positive against twenty four percent negative, with a mountain of Republicans landing somewhere in between, unsure what to make of him anymore. He still pulls close to two million podcast downloads and almost six million YouTube subscribers, so don’t mistake any of this for him being irrelevant. He isn’t. He’s just radioactive in a way that used to be reserved for the people he built his career mocking.
So here we are. Tucker Carlson, the man who platformed Holocaust deniers, ran cover for a war criminal in the Kremlin, and called January 6th defendants reverent tourists, has decided the Republican Party finally crossed a moral line he can’t abide. Not the antisemitism he kept inviting onto his own show. Not the election lies he privately mocked while letting his audience swallow them whole. A war he didn’t personally agree with. That’s the line. That’s where the conscience kicked in.
I don’t think Tucker Carlson is having a reckoning. I think Tucker Carlson is watching the same chart he’s always watched, the one with his numbers on it, and he’s doing what he’s done every single time those numbers moved. He’s following them somewhere new. Don’t let him move an inch. Fuck that bowtie wearing bitch boy.
So when he says he’s sorry for misleading people, who exactly is that apology for, the people who got hurt by what he sold them, or the audience he’s hoping follows him wherever he decides to land next?

Thank you for being here. Seriously. You make this worth doing.

May we never hear from Tucker again. I'm so sick of him.
He is a total con. A manboy! He is gross!
