Péter Magyar’s first press conference after winning the Hungarian election wasn’t about domestic policy.
It was about the receipts.
Sixteen years of Viktor Orbán didn’t just hollow out Hungarian democracy, it built an international infrastructure for dismantling democracy everywhere. And now that infrastructure has a new owner, and he’s coming for it.
Here’s the money trail.
The Foundation
In 2020, Orbán gifted the Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC) $1.7 billion in Hungarian government funds and assets. That included shares in two of Hungary’s biggest listed companies, an oil corporation and a pharmaceutical company. State assets.
Transferred to a foundation that critics called a “breeding ground for future Fidesz-friendly elites.”
Magyar has already announced he’s taking them back. He’s not fuckin’ around and I am here for it.
However, the money didn’t stay in Budapest. So, where did it go, you ask?
The Pipeline
MCC is essentially a government-organized non-governmental organization. Basically, a front for Orbán’s government. Its funding flows from dividends of Hungarian oil company MOL, which imports 65 percent of its gas and oil directly from Russia.
So the pipeline runs: Russian oil → Hungarian state company → MCC → the ideological project of dismantling Western democracy.
Then it crosses the Atlantic.
Those white supremacist, Christian Nationalist twats at the Heritage Foundation forged close ties with MCC, featuring its contributions at a closed-door Heritage workshop. In March 2025, MCC presented a report at the Heritage Foundation in Washington proposing a sweeping reform of the European Union, specifically, dismantling the European Commission, gutting the European Court of Justice, and renaming the EU the “European Community of Nations.” They love renaming shit to try to throw us off their trail…
The people writing the blueprint to dismantle American government were simultaneously hosting the people trying to dismantle European government. Same building. Same table.
MCC has worked with Jordan Peterson, Tucker Carlson, Dennis Prager, Heritage’s Kevin Roberts, and representatives of the Federalist Society, the Manhattan Institute, and Project Veritas. The entire ecosystem of the American right has been taking meetings, and influence, and money in some form, from an institution built on Hungarian taxpayer money and Russian oil revenue.
CPAC: Where It Becomes Criminal
CPAC Hungary is run by the Centre for Fundamental Rights, an Orbán-sympathetic think tank allegedly funded indirectly by the Hungarian regime through the Batthyány Lajos Foundation.
Magyar called it a crime. “Mixing party financing with government spending from the state budget is, in my view, a criminal offense,” he said, announcing his government will investigate and will no longer fund CPAC or any right-wing institution abroad.
A foreign government, whose prime minister told Putin he was available “in any matter where I can be of assistance” was bankrolling the conference that sets the ideological agenda for the American right. WTF! Five times in Budapest. American conservatives flying in, speaking, being feted, going home to write policy.
Heritage Foundation president K-K-Kevin Roberts called Hungary “not just a model for conservative statecraft but the model,” then used that model to build Project 2025.
Son-of-a-bitch.
The model was funded by Russian oil money and stolen public assets.
The Quieter Pipeline
Most Americans have never heard of the Danube Institute. It established close links to the Heritage Foundation, the organization that wrote Project 2025. Rod Dreher left Louisiana for an all-expenses-paid fellowship there, another think tank funded by the Hungarian government.
American intellectuals were being paid to live in Budapest, absorb the illiberal model, and carry it home.
That’s not cultural exchange, fucksticks. That’s ideological laundering.
What Magyar Is Actually Doing
He’s pulling the financial floor out from under the whole operation. Halleluiah!
No more MCC dividends from Russian oil. No more $1.7 billion in state assets propping up an international influence network. No more Hungarian taxpayer money in CPAC’s pocket. No more money to the Heritage Foundation. No more shredded documents.
Magyar’s win deprives Putin of his main EU ally and is sending shockwaves through Western right-wing circles. Remove the money, remove the platform, remove the proof-of-concept and what exactly is Heritage selling again? A big fat nothing-burger.
The Hungarians just voted on whether the model works. 138 seats to 55. The receipts are coming. The question isn’t whether Heritage survives the exposure. It’s whether anyone in America is paying attention when they don’t.
Don’t blink America.

Thank you for being here. Seriously. You make this worth doing.

Heritage and CPAC, amongst others, need to be burnt to the ground, and salt spread into the ashes. Literally *and* figuratively.
Imprison them all.
